I have defeated Ecruteak, Azalea, and Violet gym leaders but have yet to receive any gym badges on my card or notification that I have completed the challenge.
*UPDATE*
Issue resolved. Ecruteak gym leader was displaying prebattle text despite me defeating them. I restarted the client and fought the entire gym again, receiving my petal cloak afterwards.
